The cover of Ninjak vs The Valiant Universe #3 by Greg Smallwood is okay. But I’m just not a big fan. The layout itself is awesome – very well done – & the poses/stances by the characters is pretty sweet too. Even the coloring, which is a little plain, still looks good as a finished product. I am just having a hard time getting into the art style. Not with everything, but definitely with Bloodshot. I personally don’t like how the face is done. But, this does not mean it is bad art. This review is solely my opinion.
The interior pencils & inks of Ninjak vs The Valiant Universe #3 by Joe Bennett & Belardino Brabo look excellent together. The layouts are really good – spacious and detailed with good perspective points. I particularly like the shading – it’s detailing and strong, but not overpowering and intrusive.
The colors of Ninjak vs The Valiant Universe #3 by Ulises Arreola The colors inside this book are amazing. They explode out of the 3rd dimension adding both shape & lighting, all while maintaining an artistic flare. Well done. I really enjoyed the colors. They add so much to the look and mood of the story. I honestly think that the story would suffer some without Arreola’s atmospheric-intervention.
The writing of Ninjak vs The Valiant Universe #3 by Eliot Rahal is fantastic. The dialog and pacing of this hard-hitting, action-packed adventure is absolutely perfect. The choreography is good and the thrill ride doesn’t stop! It’s like being on a fun and scary roller coaster that builds and builds without relenting. You know the edge is coming, an enormous, very high free fall is quickly approaching, but for now you grip the seat as your eyeballs sink back into your head with G-Force!
The lettering of Ninjak vs The Valiant Universe #3 by Dave Sharpe is done quite well. The layout was easily followable and the words were easily readable. I also thought that the font choices and sound effects were creative and enjoyable.
Set in a world of its own and based on the upcoming Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe webseries!
Ninjak’s arch-nemesis – the deadly and cunning assassin Roku – has manipulated MI6’s most dangerous asset into turning on his former masters and stealing an object of immeasurable power, Asset 147, aka the Book of the Geomancer! So who can MI6 send to stop him? EVERYONE! The bone-cracking showdown of a lifetime continues here as Ninjak battles X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Livewire, Archer & Armstrong, and all of Valiant’s most formidable heroes!
Ninjak has been shot! With the asset in hand, Ninjak found himself on the run from Unity, a superteam made of his closest friends desperate to reclaim the powerful relic! But despite his best efforts, Ninjak has seemingly met his end, at the end of a bullet…!
Should you buy this book? You should SO buy this book AND go get the 2 issues that came before it too. This series is so awesome, I’m not sure I can adequately describe it. It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s action-packed-violent-fun mixed with a great plot!! Plus, it is a huge bonus for any Valiant Comics fan like myself to get to see so many of our favorite characters kicking a$$ & taking names in one spectacular book!
